Description
The Bug Test kit allows for accurate semi-quantitative analysis of fuels for bacteria and fungus in the field. It replaces standard plate count techniques used in the laboratory. A measured fuel sample is inserted into a sterilized serum bottle. After a set time period a color change is compared with the Bug Test Color chart.
BUG TEST DETECTOR KIT INSTRUCTIONS:
- Draw sample from tank bottom into a clean container.
- Carefully peel off metal tab from the test kit lid.
- DO NOT TOUCH RUBBER CAP
- Remove Syringe from packet taking care not to touch the needle.
- Insert needle into fuel sample and draw minimum of 3ml.
- Invert needle upwards & push plunger to extract any air6/bubbles from the syringe.
- Carefully insert needle into rubber cap of test bottle, pushing on the plunger to inject the fuel sample into the test bottle.
- USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN HANDLING CONTAMINATED SYRINGE AND NEEDLE.
- Remove syringe and cover the needle with the safety cover provided. Dispose of responsibly.
- Shake test bottle and place into a tube or store in a dark area at room temperature for 32 Hours
Check the test bottle are 32 hours for bacterial contamination. If the liquid bottle is pink or red you have a bacterial contamination.
Wait 72 hours to check for fungal contamination which will appear as small black particles.
- Compare test results with colour chart provided in the test kit.
- Contact Absolute Filtration Limited if the liquid is contaminated for further assistance in remedying.
